What changes are coming?

There are a few super important employment law changes coming on July 1st - and you need to know them, whether you are an employee or an employer!


1.Superannuation Increase

The Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rate is increasing from 11.5% to 12% from July 1st, 2025. The increase represents the final step in the legislated gradual increases to the SG rate.

2. Minimum Wage Increase

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.5% increase to the national Minimum Wage and minimum award wages, this will apply from the first full pay period starting on or after July 1st, 2025.

3.Paid parental Leave Extension

From July 1st, 2025, eligible parents will receive an extra two weeks of publicly funded paid parental leave, bringing the total up to 24 weeks or 120 days. The number of days reserved for a partner will also increase, as well as the number of days that parents can take concurrently. For more information, visit Services Australia.
