Working alongside the strategic operations manager, reporting directly into the company director, this is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You’ll take full ownership of site performance, from log procurement through to finished timber output.

The Role and Responsibilities
- Leading end-to-end sawmill operations, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable output
- Planning and scheduling production to meet customer demand and maximise throughput
- Managing log procurement, inventory and log yard operations
- Overseeing all mill processes including breakdown, green chain, grading and kiln coordination
- Driving improvements in yield, productivity and waste reduction
- Leading, coaching and developing a large site-based team (25-30)
- Embedding a strong safety-first culture and ensuring WHS compliance
- Maintaining certification standards and sustainable practices
- Working closely with maintenance teams to optimise performance
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Full time permanent position
- $100,000-120,000 + super (negotiable depending on experience)
- Business hours Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm

- Experience leading divisions or processes in a hardwood sawmill highly regarded
- Strong understanding of sawmilling processes and operations
- Experience in production planning, scheduling and resource allocation
- Ability to lead a large team with hands-on leadership style: someone who leads from the floor and supports their team day-to-day
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build a high-performing, accountable team
