We are recruiting an experienced State Manager – Home Assessing to lead an established assessing function during an important period of change and continued growth.
You'll lead approximately 25 people across three On-Road Assessing teams, supported by three Team Leaders. The team is predominantly Melbourne based and has experienced leadership change over the past 12 months, creating a genuine opportunity for someone to come in, reset expectations and build a strong, accountable and positive culture.
The organisation continues to grow year on year and has an excellent track record of developing its people. For someone ambitious, there is significant opportunity to grow beyond this position into broader leadership roles across the business.
About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll take responsibility for the performance, leadership and development of the Home Assessing function.
You'll work closely with your Team Leaders to create a highly engaged, technically capable and customer-focused team, while ensuring performance, compliance and service standards are consistently achieved.
About You:
Construction and insurance building experience is non-negotiable. You'll ideally come from an insurer, insurance builder, restoration business or similar environment and understand the complexities of home assessing, building repair and major weather events.
You could be an emerging leader who is sharp, ambitious and data driven, with the capability to step into a broader management role. Alternatively, you may bring significant industry experience and be looking for an opportunity where you can use that knowledge to influence and develop a team.
Most importantly, you'll be an influential and credible leader who can earn the respect of an experienced team. You'll be comfortable having difficult conversations, challenging existing practices and bringing people with you through change.
What's On Offer:
While the broader organisation offers flexibility, this role requires someone who enjoys being visible and present with their team during core operating hours.
If you're excited by the opportunity to shape a team, influence culture and grow your career within an organisation that continues to expand, we'd love to hear from you. For any specific questions please contact Stephanie at stephanie@smaart.com.au
