The team are seeking an experienced professional to join their highly collaborative and technology-driven environment. This position is based in their Perth CBD office.
As a Senior Claim Specialist, you will take ownership of a portfolio of high-value and technically complex domestic property claims, managing each claim from lodgment through to settlement. In addition to managing your own portfolio, you will act as a technical leader within the team, providing guidance, coaching and support to Claims Specialists while contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an end-to-end portfolio of domestic property insurance claims, ensuring timely, accurate and customer-focused outcomes.
- Assess complex claims, interpret policy coverage and make sound, commercially balanced claim decisions.
- Act as the technical escalation point for Claims Specialists, providing guidance on policy interpretation, coverage decisions and best practice claims management.
- Mentor and support team members through coaching, knowledge sharing and technical assistance.
- Assist with complaint resolution, identifying potential compliance risks and ensuring positive customer outcomes.
- Ensure all claims are managed in accordance with relevant legislation, industry Codes of Practice, regulatory obligations and internal policies and standards.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Salary between $90,000 - $105,000 + Super, depending on experience.

- A minimum of 5 years' experience managing domestic and/or commercial property insurance claims.
- Strong exposure to Home, Landlord and/or Strata insurance products.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers, suppliers and internal teams.
- A customer-first approach, combined with sound commercial judgement and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of general insurance claims principles, industry standards and best-practice claims management frameworks.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant insurance legislation, regulatory obligations and industry Codes of Practice, with the ability to confidently apply these when assessing and managing claims.
- Previous experience providing technical guidance, mentoring or coaching within a claim's environment will be highly regarded.
