Work with a forward-thinking professional services firm experiencing rapid growth and exciting change. Existing to enable smarter business by seamlessly integrating Finance, HR, and Payroll, our client is looking for an experienced payroll and HR leader to join their dedicated team of professionals providing precise, insightful, and reliable advisory solutions. 

The Role:
In this newly created role as Head of Payroll & HR Services, you will lead and drive outsourced payroll and HR teams into a collaborative and cohesive business unit. Reporting to the Managing Director, this strategic yet hands on role demands exceptional leadership, deep expertise in Australian payroll and HR legislation, and a passion for driving efficiency, growth, and a positive internal culture. You will join an environment that fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment with a commitment to professional growth. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and integrate outsourced payroll and HR teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for division growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovation and efficiency through automation and streamlined processes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Employment Hero systems, providing strategic guidance and training.
  • Ensure expert compliance with Australian payroll and HR legislation.
  • Manage client onboarding and proactively resolve complex client issues.
  • Oversee team development, recruitment, and training to meet evolving team needs.
  • Take ownership of divisional budgets and financial performance, and implement strategies for business growth and profitability
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in Senior Payroll or HR leadership is essential, preferably in outsourced or consultancy environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in payroll and HR legislation compliance within the Australian context.
  • Proven track record in client onboarding and relationship management.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving growth.
  • Deep understanding of Employment Hero or equivalent HR and Payroll systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum degree qualification in Human Resources and Business/Commerce, or related field required.
