In this position, you will manage two direct reports, mentoring and guiding them in their event careers. Working closely with internal stakeholders, sponsors, members and guests, you are responsible for managing all aspects of events, from initial concept through to delivery. You’ll also play a key role in refining processes, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring every event runs smoothly.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning and delivery of a diverse calendar of events
- Lead and support a small events team, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate event details
- Manage budgets, track expenses and negotiate with suppliers and venues
- Oversee run sheets, presentations, collateral and event communications
- Attend events and coordinate registrations, ticketing, accommodation and event logistics
- Manage awards programme entries, judging schedules and on-site event operations
- Review and improve existing systems and processes
- Build strong relationships across members, sponsors and key stakeholders
- Proven experience in a similar, high-volume events management role, ideally within a member-based organisation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a small team
- End-to-end event management experience, from planning to execution
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Budget management experience with confident negotiation skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Resilient, calm under pressure and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Competent in Microsoft Office and event management systems
- Interest in the building, construction or professional services industries is a plus
- Full-time permanent position, Mon - Fri
- $85,000–$95,000 + Super
