The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the rapidly expanding Technology team. This role will help drive innovation in AI and deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve claims management, enhance customer outcomes, and streamline processes.
This full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract(with the potential to become permanent) is based in Sydney, with the flexibility to work from home up to three days per week.
About the Role
The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation pipelines, cloud infrastructure services, and CI/CD workflows. They will work closely with AI developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to deliver fast, reliable, and secure deployments while meeting industry compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Building and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, VMware) with Terraform
- Deploying and managing containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Implementing monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Elastic, AWS/Azure native)
- Ensuring compliance with APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001, and DevSecOps best practices
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles
- Strong hands-on AWS and Azure experience, including hybrid environments
- Expertise in Terraform, scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and automation
- Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
- A strong team player, adding value to the team, sharing knowledge and ideas and happy to roll up their sleeves
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to different stakeholders and persuade
- Dynamic and able to adapt to an ever-changing environment
