Job description

SMAART Recruitment is proud to be partnering with O’Brien, Australia’s leading autoglass brand, to find their next Apprentice Autoglass Technicians.

This is a full-time, hands-on apprenticeship where you’ll get paid to learn and work toward a nationally recognised Certificate III in Automotive Glazing, with full training and support from day one.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a career change, this is the perfect opportunity to step into a skilled trade – no previous experience or qualifications required.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Apprentice Autoglass Technician, you’ll be trained by experienced technical trainers and industry mentors.

Your hands-on responsibilities will include:
  • Replacing and repairing vehicle glass on cars, trucks, and buses to industry standards.
  • Assessing and repairing stone chips and minor windscreen damage.
  • Using ADAS calibration equipment to reset vehicle safety features.
  • Handling tools and equipment safely and confidently, full training provided.
  • Working with customers face-to-face to provide exceptional service and explain the work being carried out.
  • Learning on the job in a real workshop setting with the full support of your team.

About You

You don’t need any experience in the trade, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn.

We’re keen to hear from people who are:
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and hands-on.
  • Comfortable with physical work and using tools.
  • Confident communicators with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Curious and eager to learn about automotive systems.
  • Open to new challenges and committed to completing their qualification.

Why Apply?
  • Earn as you learn:  with regular pay increases based on your skill level, not time served.
  • Get fully equipped from day one:  uniform, PPE, and all tools supplied.
  • Complete a nationally recognised Certificate  (no TAFE required)
  • Grow your career long-term  with structured development, mentoring, and clear pathways.
  • Work in a supportive, team-first environment  that values your contribution.
  • Enjoy access to a  comprehensive range of employee benefits  designed to support your wellbeing and career development.
