UI Designer Role
UI Designers are responsible for crafting visually engaging, intuitive interfaces that enhance the user experience across web, mobile and digital platforms. They collaborate closely with UX designers, developers and product teams to ensure design consistency, functionality and brand alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, user-friendly digital interfaces for web and mobile platforms
- Collaborate with UX designers, developers and product managers to align design with user needs
- Create wireframes, mockups and high-fidelity prototypes using design tools like Figma or Adobe XD
- Maintain and evolve design systems and style guides for brand consistency
- Translate user research and feedback into iterative design improvements
- Ensure accessibility and responsiveness across all screen sizes and devices
- Participate in user testing and incorporate findings into UI updates
- Contribute to agile product development workflows and design prints
Qualifications and Skills
- Tertiary qualification in design, HCI, digital media or related field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UI design across web and mobile platforms
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD or similar design tools
- Solid understanding of UX principals, accessibility standards and responsive design
- Ability to interpret wireframes and user flows into visual mockups
- Experience working in agile or cross-functional product teams
- Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS is advantageous
