  • How long will it take to find staff?

    The recruitment process varies depending on the nature of the role, however SMAART expects to work to urgent deadlines and regardless of the seniority of a role will expect to present a shortlist of candidates within a week to two weeks of the commencement of a permanent assignment, and within 24  to 48 hours for temp orders depending on the start date.

  • What is the recruitment process, how does it work?

    The recruitment process we typically follow is:

    • Soucing of candidates via multiple platforms
    • Screening of candidates
    • Conducting interviews, preferably face to face 
    • Background checks
    • Presentation of shortlist
    • Client interviews
    • Reference checks
    • Offer 
    • Contracts generated

  • What do you charge?

    SMAART Recruitment either charges a fee that is a percentage of the first-year salary of the candidate placed in a permanent role, or a flat fee.


    This fee is dependent on the number of roles from any given organisation plus a number of other market variables. SMAART will also include a replacement guarantee if the candidate does not stay.

  • Can I pay over a few weeks?

    Yes, you are able to pay over a pre-arranged period of time.

  • How do you find candidates?

    SMAART Recruitment will secure candidates for you from a wide range of sources – database searching, job boards, the entire Seek registered database, Indeed database, LinkedIn Recruiter, friend referrals, networking, social media and word of mouth.

  • What is your interview process?

    Our interview process blends formal intervewing techniques including the STAR methodology and behavioural and competency industry based questions, with an informal conversational style which puts the candidate at ease.

  • What background checks do you do?

    We conduct VEVO checks to check visa status, police checks, references (speaking with at least two direct managers) and general serach engine checks.

  • What kind of candidate testing are you able to provide?

    We are able to access a variety of different testing depending on the assignement and the purpose of the testing. 


    In additon we have a wide variety of free tests on our website.


  • Do you offer replacement guarantees if staff do not stay?

    Yes, we always offer replacement guarantees for permanent roles.

  • Are you able to recruit larger groups of candidates?

    Yes, SMAART specialise in volume recruitment and runs assessment centres at SMAART offices or hosted by the client.

  • What follow up do you do after the candidate has started?

    Candidate care is very important to SMAART.  We prioritise candidate communication and ensure our candidates are fully informed throughout the recruitment journey.


    We have a process to keep in touch with candidates after placement and create a communication loop with the client to monitor candidate feedback and progress.

  • Do you provide any other services apart from recruitment?

    Yes, we run a Mentoring Program for Contact Centre industry staff. 

    We operate an Outplacement Service  for staff which need assistance finding their next role after redundancy.

    We also operate SMAART Contact Centre Consulting, which advises on the operations of Contact Centres.

    The Candidate Coach is a fully owned subsidiary company of SMAART Recruitment and offers comprehensive job seeker resources to companies who want to support all candidates applying for their roles.

  • Do you payroll candidates?

    Yes, we have a large volume of temporary staff on our payroll, and we can payroll staff even if we do not source them.
