You will be required to work some weekends but this means you can have your pick of days off during the week so on average you will do 40 hours Monday- Sunday.
The Company
Established in the 1960s, the organisation currently has over 120 employees and contributes to the community through local sporting clubs and fund-raising events, whilst also providing its 2000 members and the wider community access to function spaces and club facilities. Based in Bulleen it is easy to get to and lots of parking available.

The Role
You will manage a team of two, manage the functions coordinator, and be able to bring creative ideas to the organisation in a way you feel would benefit the wider organisation.

Reporting to the General Manager and Operations Manager, you will manage and coordinate events and be responsible for the development of cost-effective advertising and promotions for all special events.   You will assist with the development of appropriate function and conference packages and also take control of all the administration and run sheets needed for the staff.  This is to ensure the smooth running of the all-special events and maintaining the high possible level of customer service. 

Key requirements
  • At least 4 years’ + experience as a functions and events manager working with a large number of events
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently 
  • Motivated, determined, and driven - you are a self-starter and looking for a challenge 
  • Strong technical ability and exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to speak fluent Italian is advantageous however not essential for this role
