SMAART Recruitment are pleased to be partnered with a reputable facilities management group on a very exciting new role with their newest facility here in Melbourne. We are searching for a motivated and entrepreneurial event and function coordinator. This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual to make this role their own, and be part of an exciting growth process. The stunning facility is a 19th century heritage listed building, located on St Kilda Rd and has just begun to open its doors to the public.

This is a client-facing role, which is varied and fast paced. There’s a range of responsibilities which includes management and operation co-ordination of events and meetings, assistance in commercial decisions and prospecting, marketing of facility and customer service. The successful candidate will be joining a close-knit team, who look out for one another and work collaboratively. Working closely with the facility manager on a range of projects, the successful candidate is going to play an important part of growing this special venue as it opens its doors to public events and meetings.
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be people-focussed and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Be professional, motivated and ready to operate with some autonomy.

  • Be able to effectively coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines and plan/prioritise your work.

  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritise a wide range of tasks whilst under pressure, to ensure critical milestones are met.

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Self-motivated and energetic with strong attention to detail.

  • Initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude is a must

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, hospitality, event management or related discipline will be highly regarded.

  • The ability to think on your feet and problem solve when necessary.

  • Experience with Social Media would be advantageous.
